1998 olds intrigue remodel
ok lets start out that i bought this car with my tax refund this spring (2012). payed 1700 for it and havent put much work into it since but i have started painting it and changing the interior colors.
the car originated as a metallic green, and rust was eating through the paint on the hood and rear quarter panels, also the entire rocker panel on both sides is rusted out.
i started by sanding down the rusted areas good and then primering over it, need to strip it all back down and cut out the cancer and fiberglass it but it will do for now.
proceeded to paint the rest of the car and soon will be tinting out the windows. My goal right now is to get rid of all the chrome on the car, im even trying to prep the next muffler that is to go on it which came off of a monte carlo and then went onto my previous car, a 1996 ford taurus , chopped it off that and put it on a 89 civic si. got it back and it will soon be on my intrigue. unfortunately the guy whom which had it on the civic bottomed it out on every hill and scuffed up the bottom ans sides of it pretty badly, so im trying to get it cleaned up and painted, the paint wont stick to it :/, so i need to strip it all back off and prime it i guess, and then have it taped off and welded onto the car and touched up if needed.
as for anything done to the car, i have a really low budget so i cant do much i have replaced the spark plugs and wires( the car had the original plugs and wires from 14 years and 185k miles ago). and i replaced the rear struts after the drivers side strut lower spring plate weld snapped and sent the plate into my tire wearing the inner 1.5"s of tread down from 9/32" to 1/32" within 20 miles (didn't realize what had happened until i stopped at my gfs sisters house). i have began to paint the interior panels from the tan/light tan color to black and blue. and i have to say it looks amazing, although i need to figure out a way to change the color of the leather on the dash and door panels though, so if you have a suggestion there please spill the beans. once i have more money and time the entire car will be blacked out.
yesterday i also tinted the headlights and taillights, pics to come soon. and i have a cool blue L.E.D. tube to light up the license plate as both the light sockets for the stock bulbs burnt up soon after getting the car.

forgot to mention that a week after getting the car i had the stock muffler cut off and a Thrush Turbo welded onto the car, that will be coming off and the Fart Can by Dragun Fire will be going on the car shortly, as soon as its all painted and everything
